Please join us to learn more about available asthma support for Wisconsin schools! The American Lung Association will be featuring a variety of asthma-related training opportunities for school nursing and support staff across Wisconsin. Additionally, the Lung Association will offer a limited number of incentives and scholarships to schools in the following counties experiencing high asthma burden: Menominee, Rock, Milwaukee, Kenosha, Brown, and Racine. We will then highlight several Wisconsin Asthma Coalition programs that are free for schools, along with some upcoming events you can participate in! We will close out with an exciting new opportunity. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ Asthma Program is issuing a request for applications for schools located in Brown, Kenosha, Menominee, Milwaukee, Racine and Rock Counties to implement programming around Stock Asthma Medication or Idle-Free Schools. These counties experience high asthma burden and are eligible to apply for funding based on demonstrated need, capacity, and desire to make their schools more asthma-friendly. Details on the project scope, application, submission, and award will be provided by the Wisconsin Asthma Program.
