Disenfranchised Grief in a Pandemic
In this presentation, we explore the ways that the pandemic has created a series of losses including persons experiencing COVID deaths, non-COVID deaths, and non-death losses, as well as the multiple losses experienced by health care workers. These losses are often disenfranchised. This seminar also reviews ways to offer effective support, both within the constraints imposed by the pandemic, as well as once the pandemic ebbs.

Conference Objectives:
1. Describe the concept of disenfranchised grief
2. Assess the disenfranchised losses within the COVID-19 Pandemic
3. Review strategies for disenfranchising grief and the ways the limitations posed by the pandemic inhibit support
4. Discuss strategies for grief treatment that will be needed as the pandemic ebbs
